Thoughts, Love & Reflections Book Review

Thoughts, Love & Reflections

by James T. DeShay

Stereotypes are a simple way of placing people inside a box; sometimes the information believed is inaccurate and destructive. When stereotypes are used exclusively, they service only to deny people the wonderful opportunity to discover uniqueness of humanity, as well as the depth of the human spirit. This book serves as a way to destroy the stereotypes of men not being able to share or communicate their deepest thoughts. Finally, you will be able to spend hours exploring the deepest thought of a man related to life, joy, love, happiness and reflection. You will spend many moments smiling and reflecting on the depth traveled to make these thoughts come into reality. Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride, while feeling free to embrace the desired emotions for yourself.

***MY HONEST REVIEW THOUGHTS, LOVE & REFLECTIONS***

This book is a compilation of poems by the author. He had me at the very first one, and they continued to get better. They range from love, fear, birth, death, honesty, time, and too many more topics to list. They seem to come from a man who has experienced deep joy, as well as sorrow.

I can only assume most were written about his relationship with his significant other over a long period of time. I see differences like during courtship and marriage, childbirth and growth, and even death.

It left me with such positive feelings in life and love. My favorite line was “The only way to live beyond death is to impact the lives of the people we will leave behind.”

Serving as an instructor in the Orange County Public School System for 27 years, DeShay shares that writing has always been a part of his life but ultimately came to full fruition about 8 years ago. Through the process of writing his first book, his ultimate goal was to prove to the world that men have the ability to share their deepest thoughts in a way that bring true beauty to love and romance. Since its publication, the book has done that, being received into the literary world with critical acclaim. “This is exactly the response I am looking for. I’m not out to change the world or find fame and fortune; but rather to prove that the emotions of men can be deeper and more romantic than society depicts” he concludes. Thoughts, Love & Reflection is available now through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Wellsbuilt Museum and select retail outlets.
